Scope of Patient Care

Not every patient is the same — nor are their medical needs. AirCARE1 has the expertise and training to help more vulnerable patients feel at ease when traveling. Our staff is equipped to handle any ailment, injury, or illness, no matter the client’s age or body type.

From infant and pediatric patients to special needs patients and older adults, we tailor our approach with empathy and compassion. Learn how we customize our services to the unique scope of care our clients need.

Medical Transport for Neonate Patients

Neonate is a medical term meaning newborn babies to infants four weeks old. Whether your child is premature or recently born, transporting an infant requires specialized medical training. Our experienced team is equipped to provide neonate care to even the tiniest patients.

At every stage, we ensure the safety and comfort of premature infants and critically ill babies with complex medical concerns. Our transports are fully equipped and configured to the unique needs of neonate patients, including neonatal ICU units with isolette incubators and neonatal ventilators.

Medical Transport for Pediatric Patients

Babies, children, and even teenagers have unique needs that differ from those of adult patients. Children going through a health crisis can struggle with high levels of anxiety. They also have distinct anatomical and physiological differences. AirCARE1 understands what it takes to safely transport kids while setting them at ease to ensure a relaxing flight.

Along with our specialized pediatric equipment, our staff takes the time to care for the emotional needs of young patients. This includes noise-canceling headphones with soothing music so that they can relax during the flight.

Medical Transport for Adults

Every client we serve is an individual. Medical transport is not one-size-fits-all. We learn as much as possible about a patient before their flight to optimize our services to their specific needs. Along with world-class medical services, we provide holistic care, including aromatherapy, noise cancellation, and hand massages at no extra cost.

No matter the patient, we offer specialized care for:

  • Those in need of continuous medical treatment.
  • Immunocompromised patients.
  • Those with chronic health conditions.
  • Patients struggling with mental health concerns.
  • Bariatric patients or those with excess weight concerns.

Medical Transport for Older Adults

Senior patients, or those over the age of 65, have special needs that could present specific challenges when traveling. Our crew understands the requirements of caring for older adults, and we take the necessary precautions to ensure their air transport is as comfortable and safe as possible.

Along with specialized equipment, senior air medical transport focuses on several unique considerations:

  • Comfort and safety: Whether they struggle with dementia or are too frail to move, we ensure our senior patients remain calm and comfortable throughout their flight.
  • Dehydration: Keeping older patients well hydrated means providing ample hydration and addressing dry skin.
  • Oxygen: Older adults tend to have unique respiratory concerns, so oxygen is readily available and adjusted as needed.
  • Medication: We take special note of an older patient’s prescriptions, as these may be needed in-flight.
