    About AirCARE1

Denise Waye, the founded of AirCARE1, dedicated her life early on to serving others through the practice of nursing. Originally a critical care nurse, Denise went on to work as a flight nurse for an air ambulance company. While Denise was initially thrown off by the utter lack of training provided by this company, she loved providing care for patients and excelled as a flight nurse. Over time, however, the lack of standards prevalent through the air ambulance industry prompted her to start her own company and AirCARE1 was born.

At AirCARE1, we operate under our own FAA Air Carrier certificate, meaning that our company has been recognized by the highest authority in the nation for providing excellent air ambulance services. Our mission statement at AirCARE1 is to “Do what is right for our patient at all times as we transport them with exceptional care equal to or better than the best premiere medical facility.”

    Safety Is Our Top Priority

With such a high focus and commitment to safety, training for our medical staff at AirCARE1 is never ending. Being a part of an air ambulance team holds a large amount of responsibility and it’s our perspective that you can never know too much when it comes to being an effective pilot, medical staff, or maintenance technician. We provide comprehensive training tools for each of our staff members to ensure that you will be well protected and taken care of when you utilize our air ambulance services.

Part of what made us choose to use a fleet of Learjets for our air ambulances is the amazing safety record of these small aircraft. The Learjet is one of the fastest aircraft in the industry while also having a high fuel capacity, ensuring that we can reach your destination quickly without needing to stop to refuel. Time can make all the difference when you’re dealing with a time-sensitive condition. Our maintenance technicians keep each aircraft in perfect condition and we have a Learjet on standby ready to assist you or your loved one in your time of need.

While many types of aircraft used by other air ambulance services can only land at large airports, our Learjets have the ability to land at pretty much any airport, meaning that no matter where you are in the Mesa, Arizona region, we can reach the airport that is nearest to you. When selecting pilots to fly our Learjets, we select only the most qualified and pilots that have been certificated as Airline Transport Pilots (ATP) as well as have critical care experience. Our commitment to safety makes it so that you don’t need to worry when flying with AirCARE1; between our state-of-the-art equipment and and our highly qualified staff, we are prepared to handle any situation that may arise.

    Industry-Leading Dual Accreditation

Becoming accredited as an air ambulance provider is no easy task. To receive accreditation, you must comprehensively demonstrate that your tools and methods are up to the task of transporting patients with life-threatening conditions wherever they need to go effectively and safely. Many aspiring air ambulance companies are simply unable to meet the extremely high level of standards set by leading air ambulance accrediting organizations.

Here at AirCARE1, we’ve achieved what many air ambulance companies have not been able to: dual accreditation. AirCARE1 has been accredited as a fixed wing air ambulance service by not only the Commission of Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS), but also by the European Aeromedical Institute (EURAMI); the two leading accrediting bodies in the industry. This means that both of these organizations took a long and hard look at our operations and found that we have met and/or exceeding their high level of standards. Both organizations have provided us with their blessing to operate as an air ambulance service, which should serve as a great comfort to anyone in the Mesa, Arizona region who needs fast and safe transportation to any medical facility around the world.

    The Importance of Holistic Care

At AirCARE1, we understand that the human experience is a blend of body, mind, and spirit. As such, we tailor our in-air treatment to meet each aspect of an individual’s needs. While we provide conventional care that rivals that which is used in even the most technologically sophisticated hospitals, our flight nurses are also trained in techniques that calm the mind and soothe the soul.

From the moment you comfortably lay down in one of our state-of-the-art medical beds, you have the option to listen to soothing music through noise-canceling headphones. Our nurses are also trained in the art of reflexology and can provide calming hand massages to soothe the anxiety associated with medical transportation. To top it off, we also offer aromatherapy to take your mind off travel and promote a feeling of serenity and well-being.

Our goal at AirCARE1 is to provide you with even better care than that which is provided at most hospitals and to keep you calm and at peace for the entire duration of your flight. Our focus on holistic care is a big part of our mission and we tailor our services to fit your specific needs.

Meeting the Needs of All Patient Types

Each of the Learjets in our specially modified fleet is capable of admitting any type of patient regardless of age or weight. We routinely work with neonatal patients and have state-of-the-art equipment on board that caters to the specific needs of infants. We are also capable of transporting children of any age and our staff has been specifically trained in methods to reduce stranger anxiety and help younger patients feel at ease.

Unlike many air ambulance companies, we are capable of transporting bariatric patients up to 450 pounds in weight. The doors on most aircraft are too narrow to admit most bariatric patients, but we have installed specialized doors on our Learjets that are wide enough to admit patients with a larger girth. Additionally, our advanced loading ramp system is capable of loading patients into our Learjets without the wobbling and slippage that is common with most standard loading systems.

Transporting geriatric (elderly) patients is a process that requires a great deal of skill and knowledge. Our staff is fully trained on the best practices for transporting geriatric patients, including proper hydration, anxiety reduction tools, and proper protection of skin integrity. Geriatric patients are much more susceptible to health complications than younger individuals, which is why we take the utmost care that our elderly patients stay comfortable and well-tended-to throughout the duration of the flight.

    Top Tier Equipment

Each of our Learjets is equipped with medical technology that either matches or exceeds the quality of medical equipment used in major hospitals. For instance, as soon as a patient is loaded onboard one of our Learjets, they are transferred to one of our state-of-the-art LifePort Patient Care Systems, where they will remain for the duration of the flight. Our LifePort systems are built exactly to our specifications and feature more comfortable 4-inch mattresses, which are very rarely found in the air ambulance industry.

In order to monitor our patients with utmost accuracy, we use the following instruments for neonatal patients: Neonate Isollete, Cross Vent 2i Ventilator, and Medfusion Pumps. For all other patients, we use these monitoring instruments: Zoll Propaq MD Monitor, LTV 1200Veintilator, and Alaris Pumps. No matter who is flying with us, we make sure to always stay abreast of the situation by keeping a watchful eye on the vital signs of our patients.

    Our Insistence on Comfort

Unlike most aircraft used for air ambulance services, our flett of Learjet fly at heights of 40,000 to 43,000 feet, which is high above most turbulence causing air. In addition, we have pulled out all the stops for the interiors of our Learjets, which are executive-class for a more enjoyable flight. Our aircraft also travels at cruise speeds of 440 knots, meaning you’ll get to your destination much faster than expected. In every way possible, we make sure that our patients remain comfortable and relaxed for the duration of the ride.
