    About AirCARE1

AirCARE1 provides air ambulance services to patients who are seeking specialized care. We own and operate our own fleet of Learjets which are designed specifically for air ambulance transport. Our Learjets are among the safest aircraft available, and they have a cruising speed of more than 500 miles per hour which helps us get patients to and from destinations quickly and safely. You can also take comfort in our stellar safety record, which we earned flying thousands of patients since we first offered medical air transportation well over a decade ago. We have a 135 Air Carrier Certificate that meets federal aviation regulations for the type of aircraft we fly.

AirCARE1 started as a dream to combine a love of flying with a love of and dedication to taking care of patients. Founder Denise Waye was a critical care nurse who then became a flight nurse. After working for other air ambulance companies and feeling that she could elevate the standards for patient care, Ms. Waye founded AirCARE1. Her mission was to do what’s right for patients while transporting them with the type of exceptional care offered by premier medical facilities.

    Commitment to Safety

No expense is spared at AirCARE1 when it comes to the safety of our patients. Each flight is staffed with a dedicated medical flight team that provides top notch care to their patients. Our priorities are safety, quality patient care, and risk mitigation. Our safety efforts begin with our choice of Learjet aircraft which are known for their exceptional safety record.

You can be confident when you use AirCARE1 that our medical team has the education and training necessary to provide the care you or your loved one needs. When any medical care professional joins our team, they come with a strong medical education and are seasoned air ambulance medical professionals. Regardless of their prior experience, we require that all of our team members undergo ongoing training to continue to improve their skills as well as to stay up-to-date with any changes in the industry. There is an extensive list of training topics our staff covers, such as:

    • Patient loading and unloading procedures
    • Flight physiology
    • In-flight medical emergencies
    • Critical care transport
    • Hemodynamic monitoring
    • Infection control
    • Hazmat
    • Trauma

    Dual Accreditation

Accreditation matters when selecting medical transportation because it means the medevac company meets industry-established standards for safety and quality. AirCARE1 has dual accreditation which is very rare in our industry. We are accredited by both the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) and the European Aeromedical Institute (EURAMI), two non-profit agencies focused on making medical transport as safe as possible. By having dual accreditation, we are showing our dedication to higher quality patient care and safe transport. Our standards of excellence helped us become only the second U.S.-based air ambulance service to be named a preferred medical transport provider for IAG, the International Assistance Group of more than 140 global service agencies providing support across five continents.

    Holistic Care

When you must travel while injured or ill, you want transportation that is as stress-free as possible. We understand, and we whole heartedly agree. Keeping you comfortable, calm, and relaxed is vital to your healing process, which is why we take a holistic approach by treating the physical and emotional needs of each patient.

Studies show the benefits of therapeutic music in reducing stress, so we make those soothing sounds available to our patients. Additionally, you won’t be bothered by the sounds of the aircraft or other people during the flight because you’ll be able to listen to that music through a noise-cancelling headset. Our team also offers aromatherapy and therapeutic hand massages to our patients to help further alleviate stress and anxiety.

We Serve All Types of Patients

AirCARE1 serves all types of patients with a variety of medical conditions. This includes a wide range from those who need minimal care or monitoring, to those in critical condition who need constant medical attention. We’re able to do this because our Learjets are all outfitted as airborne critical care units.

Here are some types of patients we transport:

    • Patients on ventilators
    • Cardiac patients with IABP
    • Trauma patients
    • Patients with more than one IV pump
    • Patients with head injury that requires intra-cranial monitoring

We also have specialty teams for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in need of specialized care.

    Top Quality Equipment

Part of providing the best quality air medical transport for our patients includes having state-of-the-art equipment to meet their needs—and that’s not just on our fully equipped aircraft. We’ve put great thought and care into taking care of patients from the moment we pick them up until the moment they are safely delivered to their destination.

    • Lifeport Patient Care System – We carefully transport the patient from their bed to our Lifeport Patient Care System, which is not only comfortable, but it provides a safer and smoother transport. Patients remain in the Lifeport system until placed in the bed at their new destination.
    • Patient Loading Utility System – We have a customized loading ramp system, which makes getting patients on the aircraft faster and safer, and it minimizes unsteadiness during the boarding process. Also, our aircraft cargo doors are 30 percent wider than most other medical transport aircraft, which makes it easier and safer to get patients on board.
    • Monitoring Medical Equipment – During the flight, we use sophisticated equipment for continuous, detailed patient monitoring. This include Alaris pumps, Zoll Propaq MD monitor, and LTV 1200 ventilator. Because our neonate patients may require even more attention and care, we have Cross Vent 2i ventilator, Mdfusion pumps and Neonate Isollete.

    Maximum Comfort and Smoother Flights

Patient comfort is of utmost importance. To start, our aircraft have 36-inch-wide cargo doors, which is a foot wider than many other air ambulances. These wider doors give us more maneuverability, which means you don’t need to be concerned about getting bumped around while we get you on or off the aircraft. Inside the aircraft, you fly in comfort with our first-class cabin interiors.

Our choice of Learjet aircraft give us an edge over many other aircraft because our jets are among the most efficient in the industry when it comes to long-rage transport. We can fly four to five hours before stopping to refuel, which means you can fly non-stop to almost any U.S. destination. With fewer stops, you get to your destination quicker, and that can reduce travel-related stress. Our aircraft are less noisy than many others, and they allow us to fly above 29,000 feet. At that altitude, the ride is smoother, and there’s less turbulent weather.

Many air ambulance services use aircraft that are not adequate for the distance the patient must travel, but that’s not the case at AirCARE1. You can trust that our Learjets are the right aircraft for patient transport, and we’ll be glad to give you more specifics about this when you arrange your medical transport.

    Travel Companions

Patients don’t always need private air transport, but they may need medical support when they fly. That’s why we offer a travel companion option through our AirCARE1 Commercial Medical Escort division. Our medical escort specialists have the knowledge, training, and experience to provide proper companion services to each patient during their travels to or from the Farmington area.

Our team puts the patient first, offers a personal touch, and helps relieve some of the travel stress, which can give the patient peace of mind. Hiring a travel companion is often more economical than hiring a private Learjet, but the lower cost still comes with the best care possible for you or your loved one.

    Here’s what we offer:

    • Flight booking and ground transportation for patient and accompanying family members
    • First class or business class seating for added space and comfort
    • FAA approved medical equipment
    • Continuous care during transport
    • Around-the-clock flight and travel updates

Companion services are for non-critical patients. Call us at 877-760-7760 to discuss your travel needs, and find out which types of patients qualify for commercial medical escort assistance.
