The AirCARE1 story starts with the dream of one critical care nurse who wanted to make a difference. Flight nurse Denise Waye had worked for another air ambulance company, but did not feel the level of patient care and safety standards were at the level that patients deserved to receive. Ms. Waye decided to build on that need in the industry and founded AirCARE1 over a decade ago.
Today, AirCARE1 operates a state-of-the-art fleet of Learjets that fly to destinations around the world in order for patients to access the specific types of care that they need. AirCARE1 helps patients get the care they deserve no matter what the location of the medical facility that they need to travel to may be. As a highly acclaimed air ambulance provider, AirCARE1 offers comprehensive training to our staff which allows us to achieve exceptional levels of care as well as an excellent safety record.
Our Commitment to Safety
AirCARE1 works hard to ensure that we have the most qualified medical personnel on our medical team who are up to date with the latest in training. We employ medical professionals who have multiple years of experience in critical care. In addition to the initial crew training we give all of our new team members, we also require monthly continuing education so our team has up-to-date training in their field.
Our flight crew are also the most qualified, experienced professionals in the industry. We only hire certified Airline Transport Pilots who are also required to receive critical care training. Once they have passed our stringent hiring process, our pilots will receive annual training at a prestigious flight training facility. We always use a 2-pilot crew on our flights for maximum safety.

AirCARE1 has made the effort to obtain dual accreditation as a leading air ambulance provider. We have received accreditation from both the European Air Medical Institute (EURAMI) and the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). As medical technology becomes increasingly sophisticated, the air ambulance industry has made significant progress in responding to a variety of complex transportation needs. By maintaining our accreditation with both CAMTS and EURAMI, we remain on the cutting edge of development in this emerging field. Our Focus on Holistic Care
With the layers of experience behind the founder and employees of AirCARE1, we know how stressful even the idea of going through medical air transportation can be. We know that often the experience of loading and unloading the patient in the aircraft can be challenging and exhausting. We understand that patients may experience higher stress levels in transport and we take every measure to make sure that our patient’s experience is as stress-free as possible.
In order to increase patient comfort and decrease stress, we offer services in-flight to help alleviate patient anxiety. We offer aromatherapy and hand massages to create a low-stress and peaceful environment. We also use noise-cancelling headphones so the patient can enjoy therapeutic music during the flight to help keep their mind at ease. We do all that we can to ensure that both the patient and their family members are able to be as relaxed as possible while in our capable hands.
State of the Art Medical Equipment
Beginning before takeoff and continuing through the time the patient has arrived at their destination, AirCARE1’s sophisticated medical equipment ensures even the most fragile and at-risk patients receive the level of monitoring and care they need throughout their medical journey. AirCARE1 uses a series of special monitoring equipment designed for infants and adults, which ensures that each patient can have detailed and continuous monitoring throughout his or her medical flight. We also utilize an efficient patient loading system when boarding the aircraft; this system reduces bumps, wobbles and other unpleasant feelings that can otherwise be experience during the patient loading and unloading process.
Some of the adult medical equipment onboard AirCARE1’s flights are Alaris Pumps, the LTV1200 Ventilator, and the Zoll Propaq MD Monitor. The equipment list for neonates is similar, and includes: Medfusion Pumps, Neonate Isollete, and the Cross Vent 2i Ventilator.
