AirCARE1 is a premier air ambulance provider that safely and efficiently transports patients from hospital to hospital within the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America, Europe and Asia. Based in Arizona, AirCARE1 provides medical transportation to both residents of Scottsdale as well as those visiting the city who may have been stricken with an illness or serious injury. Whatever your situation may be, you you can rest assured that your decision to utilize AirCARE1 will give your loved one the best care possible while they are transported to receive the specialized care and treatment they need.

We have a simple mission at AirCARE1 that every team member embraces as we transport patients and their loved ones to their preferred care facility – “Do what is right for our patient at all times as we transport them with exceptional care equal to or better than the best premiere medical facility.”

Providing Industry Leading Air Ambulance Transportation

AirCARE1 is no ordinary air ambulance service. Our Arizona based medical transportation service is licensed as a critical care and specialty care air ambulance provider. Our highly trained team members consist of critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, paramedics and physicians who are trained at a level that exceeds the air ambulance industry’s standards.

Two members of the highly trained medical teams are selected for each flight according to the patient’s particular health need and age. These professionals deliver holistic therapies in addition to conventional treatments within their respective specialties.

In addition to the medical team, each flight is lead by two seasoned pilots with specific training in critical care transportation. Our pilots understand the nuances of medical transportation and work seamlessly with the medical staff aboard the aircraft.

Our Commitment to Safety & Ongoing Training for All Employees

The safe loading and unloading of patients is achieved through AirCARE1’s Patient Care Delivery System, which provides a mechanical loading ramp as well as extra wide aircraft doors.

AirCARE1 has a long history of safe flying backed by our exceptional safety record. We own and operate a fleet of customized Learjet aircraft that have a record of being one of the safest small aircraft available.

All employees are required to receive initial training, continuing education, and annual trauma training. AirCARE1’s initial training includes patient assessment, patient loading/unloading procedures, flight physiology, stressors of flight, fatigue factors, air medical resource management, aircraft orientation and safety, in-flight medical emergencies, quality management, survival training, HAZMAT, intubations, skills lab, and flight orientation. Additional training our teams also go through includes neurological, pulmonary, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology and advanced patient assessment.

This level of training exceeds the typical training done by other air ambulance providers and ensures our medical team maintains the highest level of standards. With this level of training in hand, our specialized staff are able to handle any medical situation that may arise.

In addition to our medical staff, our pilots are required to have logged at least 3,000 hours of flying time to even qualify for an interview with AirCARE1. Once hired, our pilots receive regular training regarding flight physiology, medical terminology, and training in how to support the level of critical care that patients may require. This training provides seamless communication between pilots and the medical personnel on board.

Our Duel Accreditation & Commitment to Excellent Patient Care

AirCARE1 is accredited by both the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) and the European Air Medical Institute (EURAMI). This dual accreditation demonstrates not only a rare level of achievement in the air ambulance industry, but it also demonstrates the commitment to excellent patient care that AirCARE1 possesses.

In addition, AirCARE1 is a preferred provider for the International Assistance Group (AIG) and is only the second such provider to be selected from the United States.

Our Focus on Holistic Care for our Patients’ Mental Wellbeing

To complement the superior traditional medical care AirtCARE1 provides, we also offer patients holistic treatments such as aromatherapy, hand massages and therapeutic music that is listened to through noise-canceling headphones. These treatments are offered to create peace of mind and reduce the stress and anxiety that patients may experience during medical transport. Holistic care techniques are also offered to family members traveling with the patient to help keep the caregivers calm as well during an often traumatic time.

We Help All Types of Patients

Through both state-of-the-art equipment as well as our highly trained and compassionate medical professionals, outstanding care is given to patients of all types and ages. Neonates/infants will be treated with specialized equipment specific to their needs; including a level 3 NICU and incubator. Children, adults, and elderly patients also receive specialized healthcare onboard AirCARE1 flights with medical teams trained to understand the specific medical transportation and care considerations for each type of patient.

AirCARE1’s aircraft and medical teams are also equipped to handle the needs of bariatric patients of all weights and sizes. With our special mechanized loading ramps and the extra-wide cargo doors on our fleet of Learjets, we are able to efficiently and safely transport larger patients. In addition, our medical teams are trained to work with the specific needs of obese patients.

Our State-of-the-Art Medical Equipment

At AirCARE1, we have a patient care delivery system that involves the most sophisticated equipment designed to treat and transport even the most fragile of intensive care patients.

Our onboard medical equipment provides the same level of care that is offered inside of the most state-of-the-art hospitals, including Zoll Propaq MD monitors, LTV1200 Ventilators, and Alaris pumps. Infants are monitored by Neonate Isolletes, Cross Vent 21 ventilators, and medfusion pumps. The onboard neonatal intensive care equipment includes fully-equipped medical level 3 NICUs and NICU incubators.

AirCARE1 aircraft are equipped to be airborne critical care units, but our aircraft also provide extra peace through monitor brackets for stretchers as well as extra comfort from four-inch mattress pads and adjustable knee lifts.

AirCARE1’s unique Patient Loading Utility System includes special mechanical ramps and extra-wide aircraft doors that provide efficient and safe transportation of patients of all sizes. With the use of these special mechanical ramps, even the heaviest patients can be safely and efficiently loaded by AirCARE1 onto and off of our air ambulance aircraft.

The mechanical ramps prevent tipping, tilting and wobbling while transferring patients onto and off of aircraft. This prevents injuries to both patients and medical staff as well as damage to equipment that can otherwise occur when manually lifting patients into the aircraft or lowering them down from aircraft. This alleviates much of the stress that is often felt by patients and their families during the process of loading and unloading patients.

The LifePort Patient Care System is another feature that is unique to AirCARE1. This system involves:

  • Four-inch-thick mattress pads instead of two-inch pads
  • Monitor brackets that attach to stretchers
  • Adjustable knee lifts

The adjustable knee lifts prevent patients from sliding down stretchers during takeoffs and landings. They also provide significant comfort to patients who must remain on stretchers for the duration of the flights, which can make a big difference during longer flights.

Smooth-Riding, First-Class Medical Transport

AirCARE1’s fleet of Learjets is among the most efficient aircraft in the air ambulance industry with the ability to reach many domestic and international destinations without refueling. Transports of 500 or more nautical miles should be made with jets because jets fly at faster speeds and higher altitudes, yet about half of air ambulance patients are flown in aircraft that are inappropriate for the distance they are being flown.

In addition to the high-speed of our Learjets, they offer an amazingly smooth ride because they feature Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) systems. This system is state-of-the-art technology that allows for a smooth ride through high-altitude flight which reduces the possibility and impact of turbulence.

Originally created for business travel, Learjets are quieter than many similar aircraft. They also have luxurious interiors which provide for a pleasant and comfortable travel experience in an often stressful and traumatic time for the patient and their family.

Commercial Medical Escort Services

AirCARE1 is also proud to offer Commercial Medical Escort services to those who may not need a dedicated air ambulance aircraft. This service can be a great solution for patients who may not need immediate critical care, but who do need supervised medical attention on a commercial flight. This service offers a cost effective way to transport patients certain patients in a stable enough condition to handle a commercial flight.
